(or simply check out the reviews of others who have gone “before” you, and see what they’ve had to say about the experience as well)

Stay away from “free” readings. And avoid any offer that sounds too good to be true! A quality tarot card reader will WANT to be paid for their services (as do we ALL in our chosen fields) and any reading you see that is advertised as “free”, usually isn’t. (and in our opinion, should be avoided at all costs if you’re serious about seeing a real psychic, to boot!)
